Blog :: Feast of Fields

 Author: Lotusland Vinyard
Date: Sunday Sep 9, 2011

Feast of Fields is a 4 hour (1pm to 5pm) gourmet wandering harvest festival - is FarmFolk CityFolk's annual fundraising event. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, you can taste the very best of BC from chefs, vintners, brewers, farmers, fishers, ranchers and food artisans from across the province - some think of it as a 40 course meal paired with wine and beer! Feast of Fields highlights the connections between producer and chef, field and table, and farm folks and city folks. Feast of Fields is a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system.

Visit their site at www.feastoffields.com for more details

Have you ever come across what appear to be white flakes floating in your bottle of wine? Did you assume that the wine was flawed or ruined?

What you have seen are tartaric crystals, commonly referred to as "wine diamonds" or Weinstein (wine stone) in German speaking countries. So do these wine diamonds signal a bad bottle of wine?

To find out more about wine diamonds google 'wine diamonds'

LOTUSLAND'S Girlsrmeaner has wine diamonds in the bottle. We say: "Our girls come with diamonds, and diamonds are a girls best friend"

Cheers
